TITLE OF ART: "Honu Island Waters"        ARTIST: Christie Marie Elder Russell

MEDIUM: Fine Art Wood Print

ART STORY:  When I was in my 20's I used to work in tattoo shops in my "off season" (spring and fall) from my "real job" which for 11 years out of high school was being a Professional Snowboarder. ~ (Yes those were fun times! :) ) When I settled down to start a family and my kids were younger I had home time to work on my fine art. Of coarse I wanted to mix my fun tribal tattoo style sometimes with my fine art talent. "Honu Island Waters" was one of my first tribal turtle mixed media paintings (silver paint pen and Daniel Smith watercolor paints) I had fun creating the stylized turtle and fish and adding in the more realistic light ribbons through the water and on Honu's shell. I love that turtles stand for Peace, Grace, and Strength! ~ I hope you enjoy this painting  <3 Share the Love.

* The original piece of art was done by Christie with Daniel Smith watercolor paints and Silver Paint Pen on watercolor paper. "Honu Island Waters" The Original is Sold.
